How to Match a Chinese Car Engine or Gearbox by VIN and OE
A vehicle name alone may not identify the correct assembly. Trim, model year, market, and the installed engine or transmission code can differ. Gather the details below and confirm fitment by VIN / OE before requesting a quote.
Prepare vehicle details
- Vehicle VIN
- Vehicle make, model, year and market
- Engine or transmission code from its label or stamping
- OE number or removed-part number, if available
Take useful photos
Send an overall photo of the removed assembly and close-ups of its label, connectors and mounting points. For a gearbox, include its tag or case code; for an engine, include the engine marking and a clear view of the assembly configuration.
Before confirming an order
- Confirm the assembly code and fitment by VIN / OE.
- Ask the supplier to confirm condition and exactly what is included.
- Agree on photos of the actual item, packing, quantity and destination country.
- Do not assume different codes or similar-looking housings are interchangeable without verification.
Vehicle names in the catalogue are references. For an exact match, send the VIN, assembly code and photos directly to the supplier.
Common questions about parts fitment
Is the vehicle model alone enough to confirm fitment?
No. One vehicle model can have different engines, transmissions and configurations. Use the VIN together with the old assembly code or OE number for verification.
What should I send for a wholesale enquiry?
Send the VIN, part or assembly code, photos of the markings, required quantity and destination country. This helps the supplier check fitment and respond more accurately.
Can I replace a transmission with a similar-looking model?
Do not rely on appearance alone. Transmission codes, connectors, mounts and vehicle configurations can differ; confirm compatibility by VIN / OE.
Are all catalogue items in the same condition?
Condition and included components may vary by listing. Before payment, confirm the condition, included components and photos of the exact item selected.
